Council News Submission Guidelines
The Navy League Communications Department wants to hear from you! We are committed to increasing awareness about the exceptional work being done by all of our councils. With your help, we can grow our presence on social media websites like Facebook and Twitter, upload original content to the website and share your stories through The Navy Leaguer.
Story Content:
We are looking for recent stories (having occurred after the most recent edition of The Navy Leaguer) that highlight an event your council organized or an event in which your council participated. We are specifically interested in stories about events that directly support the sea services and their families.
When submitting story content, please adhere to the following guidelines:
Photos:
We are looking for photos to accompany your council news stories. If possible, photos should include a Navy Leaguer(s) actively participating in the event. We are more interested in the quality than the quantity of photos. Please submit clear images that visually assist in telling your story.
When submitting photos, please adhere to the following guidelines:
We will try our best to share all items we receive through social media, navyleague.org, or The Navy Leaguer. However, due to the high volume of submissions, we are unable to share all content. It is up to the Navy League Communications Department staff to determine the most appropriate outlet for each news story (social media, navyleague.org, The Navy Leaguer). Please check these outlets frequently to see your council news and continue submitting articles in the future.
Thank you again. We look forward to sharing the great work being done by your council!
Deadline:
The submissions deadline for the next issue is February 10, 2012.
