ARLINGTON, Va. — Applications for financial assistance through the Washington Navy Yard Survivors Fund are now available. The application deadline is Dec. 1, 2013. The fund will remain open for donations until that date.

In response to the tragedy on Sept. 16 at the Washington Navy Yard, the Navy League of the United States established the Washington Navy Yard Survivors Fund to provide financial assistance to those families most affected by the tragic events.

Funds will be allocated to civilian, contractor and emergency response personnel based on three categories:
A. Loss of Life, with funds going to the surviving family
B. Hospitalization, with payment based on length of hospital stay
C. Physical injuries treated and released from the hospital on September 16, 2013
