We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Publications Manager to assist with the production and promotion of the Navy Leagues award-winning SEAPOWER magazine. The successful candidate will manage administrative tasks in support of advertising activities for the magazine and the SEAPOWER website as well as social media outreach and engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supporting the SEAPOWER team in implementing advertising and social media strategies and objectives.
Tracking advertising materials and revenue, while serving as the advertising point person for the sales director and graphic design vendor.
Maintaining the advertising sales database, produce invoices and generate sales reports for mail and electronic distribution.
Producing the annual SEAPOWER media kit and other sales and promotional tools.
Promoting SEAPOWER website activities on social media platforms and produce original content for Facebook and Twitter.
Working as part of the SEAPOWER team in the magazines production cycle, including proofing pages and editing copy.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years as an administrative assistant, journalist or communications professional.
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on tight deadlines as part of a team.
Expertise marketing within a variety of social media platforms.
Adaptation and the ability to quickly learn through hands on training.
Strong interpersonal skills.
High-level working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office suite of programs and Associated Press writing style.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Quick thinking, and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite.
Knowledge of the military protocol is preferred.
